An award-winning writer herself, Ruth knows what media professionals look for and need in a destination and, likewise, which media professionals to zero in on for any given destination’s unique media outreach initiatives.

A natural-born connector of people and places, Ruth organizes and implements all LRC press trips and media events while managing the company’s media relations efforts, as well as our work on behalf of Southeast Tourism Society’s annual Domestic Showcase journalist program. She also takes the lead on crisis communication planning with clients who need assistance in that area.

Her 23-year career as vice president, media relations and marketing, at the Macon, Georgia, Convention & Visitors Bureau afforded her the opportunity to work with travel writers, filmmakers, national and international broadcast networks and music industry executives. She also was one of Georgia’s first Destination Marketing Organization PR people invited to membership in the prestigious Society of American Travel Writers.

Ruth holds a BS in Communication Arts, emphasis in Public Relations/minor in Journalism, from Georgia Southern University and is a graduate of the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College. She began contracting with LRC in 2011 and joined the team full time in 2012.
